The mythical home of Merlot
Miniscule in size (˜800 hectares) yet multi-faceted in the expession of its terroir, the Pomerol appellation produces rare and refined wines. It is here that Merlot, the dominant grape variety, explicitly reveals its noble character.
Pomerol does not appear in any classification yet it is always at the summit. It is the homeland of the mythical Château Pétrus, L’Evangile, La Conseillante, Le Pin and others, which convey the reputation of Bordeaux wines worldwide.
